Story line and Critical Review

Story line
In the action-comedy The Interview, Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show "Skylark Tonight." When they discover that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA recruits them, perhaps the two least-qualified men imaginable, to assassinate Kim Jong-un.

Critical review
I finally watched one of the most controversial movie - The Interview. The controversy of the movie is somehow more interesting than the movie itself. Characterizing it as satire elevates the creative execution of the film's very silly faux assassination of North Korea's leader Kim Jong-Un far beyond what it merits. The interview is contrived absurdity, that is has very little pay-off for all the trounle it caused. One performance does stand out in the move, Randall Park, who plays Kim Jong-un and is (SPOILER ALERT) blown to smithereens in the movie, is a “riot throughout,” according to Roger Friedman of The Independent, who gives the film a positive review.
